It is likely that on more than one occasion your computer has decided to rest by activating either the relevant screen saver or the energy-saving mode. Caffeine prevents this from happening.

To do so, it carries out a kind of simulation with which it deceives the PC by making it believe that you yourself are pressing a key every certain period of time, thus preventing it from entering rest.

Caffeine can start next to Windows and stay active as long as you want without reducing system performance, as it consumes very few resources. On the other hand, its operation can be customized by adding the corresponding parameters through the command line.
